Charlie’s expertise has been shaped by years guiding and running safari camps across Southern Africa and a career spent exploring some of the most far-flung corners of the world.
Having run lodges in South Africa and Zambia, as well as a cattle farm in Kenya and guiding in the Kruger National Park, he brings a first-hand understanding of African bush life to JORO’s team. Beyond Africa, his experience spans a similarly broad range, from leading ski and golf events in Canada and the US to delivering high-end private events in the UK.
Charlie’s own travels have taken him trekking across Pakistan and Nepal, surfing in Indonesia and Peru, diving and road-tripping across Southern Africa, and skiing and golfing in North America. Sharing stories round a campfire beneath open skies is where he is happiest, although the golf course is a close second.
Conservation and regenerative tourism are central to his approach to travel. He firmly believes the best journeys should leave a place and its people better off than when you arrived.
Leading guests deep into the gorges of Northern Limpopo for their first glimpse of a Pel's Fishing Owl, and watching their excitement spill over as they ended up in the croc-filled Luvuvhu River.
