JORO’s Public Commitment to Human Rights

Our commitment

JORO is committed to respecting and promoting human rights across all our operations, guided by internationally recognised standards. We believe that responsible travel must protect the dignity, safety, and wellbeing of everyone involved - from our team to our local partners, suppliers, and the communities we work with.

The fine print

Frameworks we uphold

JORO publicly commits to:

  • The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). We recognise our responsibility to prevent, mitigate, and address human-rights impacts connected to our activities, and we integrate human-rights due diligence into our decision-making and supplier relationships.
  • The International Bill of Human Rights, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). We respect the fundamental rights and freedoms of all individuals, ensuring that our operations and partnerships do not infringe upon these rights.
  • The International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. We uphold and expect our partners to uphold the core labour standards: freedom of association, elimination of forced labour, abolition of child labour, and non-discrimination in employment.

How this shapes our work

We expect everyone we work with to uphold these principles. This includes maintaining safe and fair working conditions, protecting vulnerable groups, promoting equality, and ensuring that our operations do not contribute to human‑rights risks. We work closely with local partners to support positive community impact and to ensure that our trips respect local cultures and livelihoods.

Our ongoing responsibility

We review our commitments regularly as part of our B Corp governance and continue to strengthen our approach as we grow. Responsible travel is a shared journey, and we are committed to doing our part with transparency and integrity.
